“What hurts you, blesses you. Darkness is your candle.” — Rumi (via ohhelloholly)

In memory of Maurice Sendak who died a year ago today. -

robbinseggs:

“Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters — sometimes very hastily — but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it.”

Social Media

Do you ever wonder what life would be like without social media?  I felt the need to remember, so I abandoned my accounts for a month!

Things I Noticed:

There is a lot of minutia on timeline.

I had more direct contact with my friends.

However, some are better at replying to tweets as opposed to texts.

There was suddenly more time for everything else!

Things I Missed:

Tweets dealing with news and current events.

Friends I don’t normally speak to on the phone.

Posts about sports!

I Realized:

Too many people like to whine and I really really really don’t care.

Some A lot of people like to convey their opinions as facts…

If you want DRAMA, you will get DRAMA.

It’s better to tweet or post with a purpose and…THINK BEFORE YOU POST!

<3 That’s all for now =)
